Workshop: Self-Care 101 For Beginners

Is self-care on your radar but bubblebaths, skin care tutorials, and spa treatments aren’t your thing? Maybe you’ve been taught that self-care means weakness, or that you should “suck it up, buttercup.” You may have no idea what self-care even means.

You’re in the right place. This workshop is your space to create a deeper, more meaningful experience of guilt-free self-care that fits for you.

Discover Your Own Self-Care

Genuine, authentic self-care isn’t too feminine. It is not selfish, and it’s not impractical.

Some people find self-care in bubblebaths. Others find their perfect self-care in restoring cars, oil painting, watching weekend football with buddies, tent camping in the wilderness, or honing their boxing skills.

Your self-care is informed by your own personal choices.

If you’re a beginner to self-care and sense you need it, but aren’t quite sure what it means or how to do it, this Self-Care 101 Workshop will show you how to create a self-care practice unique to your own needs.

This 2-hour introductory workshop is a purposely small group to help you get started on your self-care journey in a relaxed, connected, collaborative environment.

While facilitated by a long-time professional in the field of self-care and wellbeing, this workshop is not held in a sterile classroom setting. You’ll be welcomed into an inviting, nurturing environment to enhance and deepen your experience of learning about self-care.

What You’ll Learn

We’ll start at the beginning, answering the most common questions about self-care. We’ll create clarity about what it even means in the first place, and then dive into how it will look in your own life.

Through instruction and participation in this Self-Care 101 Workshop, you’ll:

  • discover what self-care is… and what it isn’t
  • learn what it means to care for yourself in everyday life
  • uncover your personal barriers to self-care
  • explore practical ways of overcoming barriers to self-care
  • learn how to truly nourish your spirit in everyday life
  • create a practical, sustainable self-care plan that fits for you

Using evidence-based strategies, we’ll take the mystery out of self-care and show you exactly how you can use it to move forward in your life in a balanced, creative way.

We’ll touch on topics like personal boundaries, creating the space and time for self-care, how to overcome feelings of guilt about caring for yourself, and so much more.
